SO many hilarious moments of this movie. I was a huge fan of the first movie so I had instant nostalgia. Sequels are one of the hardest things for filmmakers, but they pulled it off pretty well with this one.

The movie starts off with the young daughters swapping bodies with the mom and grandma and vice versa. It was very funny watching the young girls trying to sabotage their elders and embarrass them.

The film balanced being able to honor the original movie while also giving a fresh new chapter of new jokes and unexpected situations. I think this movie may have had more humor and heart than even the first one did. Instead of two characters being affected by the sudden change in identity, there were four which I believe brought more of an emotional pull throughout the film.

As funny as the movie was, it was also a very heartfelt movie that shows the struggles of being a single mom, as well as having an absent father and mother in the girls childhood. The ending was perfect in my opinion, it was predictable but in movies like this one that’s just how it should be.

    * Honorable mention for the “Take Me Away” performance at the end of the movie which was phenomenal. *

  • The Roses

    Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

This movie was exceptional. I think screenwriters could have done so much more with this movie. There were many parts of the husband and wife’s relationship that were believable. How the main characters relationship began, then disintegrated, and eventually came to an end. The banter that went on between the husband and wife was funny, but rather felt pretty fake and forced some of the time. The other couples in the movie didn’t match well in my opinion, making their “funny” moments just not. The relationships seemed too out of the ordinary. It really just felt like too far of a reach overall.

I think the main characters relationship did a good job at touching on aspects of a true marriage and maybe even relatable for some, allowing for the audience to connect at certain parts. Perhaps individuals could have learned something or decided to maybe try something different in their own lives to save their relationship.

I wasn’t a fan of the ending. No major spoilers here, but I think it was lazy writing. That is just my opinion, some may think it was genius. It was unexpected though, so I’ll give them that.

  • F1

    Rating: 5 out of 5.

F1 was not just movie about racing, it’s a film about courage, speed, emotions, and the human mind that is sitting behind the wheel. This film had me hooked from the first minute all the way until the very last. It delivered its promise of high speed excitement and cinematic adrenaline.

Something that really stood out to me about this film was the attention to detail that it produced. Every frame of this movie has purpose. The sound design and cinematography was powerful and made it feel like we were right there on the track with them.

Now time for my favorite part along with everyone else’s, Brad Pitt, who is playing a veteran racer making an unexpected comeback. He delivered an outstanding performance in this project. His character balances charisma, intensity, and vulnerability who is portraying a person who has a legacy with a passion for a fast paced sport.

The supporting actors in this film brought much more emotional depth to the main message of the story, which is redefining success. Success isn’t about winning, but rather personal growth, teamwork and inner peace.

F1 is more than just a sports drama. It’s a tribute to resilience, ambition, teamwork, and the mind under high pressure. Even if you aren’t into sports, this is a must watch. If you like a well portrayed high-stakes story, this film is for you.

  • The Smashing Machine

    Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

As someone who watches UFC and MMA rarely compared to some, I was very intrigued by this film as Mark Kerr hit his career peak before I was even born. This film truly captures the essence of what it takes someone to fight not only in the cage, but in life. It brilliantly portrays the highs and lowest of lows in the world of MMA.

Dwayne Johnson no doubt delivered one of his most grounded performances to date. The acting, cinematography, and soundtrack was exceptional and made it overall enjoyable. Emily blunt delivered an outstanding performance as her character showed the struggles and complexities of maintaining a relationship with an athlete struggling with addiction, as well as her own struggles with addiction.

However, for those like myself, this film perhaps left us wanting to know a bit more. I left the theater wondering more about Mark Kerr and his backstory before 1997. History or context about his beginnings would have been beneficial for myself and possibly others.

The decision to end on a victorious note for Mark Kerrs good friend Mark Coleman felt a bit odd and unresolved for an ending.I think the one main thing this movie could have done better was focusing on a single aspect of fighting. Maybe the deeper psychological battle of the actual game of fighting. The extra depth would make it more emotional and stronger overall.
