The Roses

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

This movie was exceptional. I think screenwriters could have done so much more with this movie. There were many parts of the husband and wife’s relationship that were believable. How the main characters relationship began, then disintegrated, and eventually came to an end. The banter that went on between the husband and wife was funny, but rather felt pretty fake and forced some of the time. The other couples in the movie didn’t match well in my opinion, making their “funny” moments just not. The relationships seemed too out of the ordinary. It really just felt like too far of a reach overall.

I think the main characters relationship did a good job at touching on aspects of a true marriage and maybe even relatable for some, allowing for the audience to connect at certain parts. Perhaps individuals could have learned something or decided to maybe try something different in their own lives to save their relationship.

I wasn’t a fan of the ending. No major spoilers here, but I think it was lazy writing. That is just my opinion, some may think it was genius. It was unexpected though, so I’ll give them that.
